Its Raining, Games!

As we are now well and truly in spring, with the trees blossoming, the birds singing, it seems our PC’s are getting let down by us again for the alternative of a day out. That’s right, you couldn’t get us away from the things in winter but now its hard to get us on them.

The rain's best friend

That’s why I pose the question to you, how much impact does weather have on gaming, really?

Have you ever found yourself being bullied off your favourite indoor entertainment activity by a parent or partner when the sun is in full view? The call of “It’s a lovely day you should be outside doing *Insert meaningless outdoor activity here*, not playing on that again” The answer probably is yes, but have you noticed that it hardly gets said when it’s dull and raining!!

The whole gaming community suffers when it comes to being beautiful outside, while it is boosted when it is dreary.  Its why the most avid gamers will wish for rain, wind and cold, for the basic fact of being able to stay indoors and play on the holy grails that are games.

Me personally like a bit of a mixture with my two best hobbies being sport and gaming, and happily welcome a bit of both. However, at the same time gaming will always have an edge over, er, not gaming, with the likes of Fifa being able to suit my sporting desires on occasions, and hours of mashing a joypad giving me all the cardiovascular workout I need.

So, ask yourself this, Will you be with the Gamers or will you be with the “Lets go play in the sun” fun-bunch?
