Thread: vac1 ban because of cs1.6 skins

I highly do NOT recomend putting custom skins on cs 1.6 as i got vac1 banned for putting skins on. Now i can not play in ED or play half my games because of skins.

DO NOT PUT SKINS ON VAC1 GAMES!!!!

Yeah, some of my friends in RL figured it out the hard way. About a week after he put a knife skin on, he was banned.

Wow thanks for bringing that up. I recently installed CS and I had no idea skins were ban worthy for 1.6. My only question is why would they ban for skins when CS:S doesn't ban for skins? That is pretty odd to me.

CS:S Does ban for some skins. That's why you REALLY have to be careful where you download your skins and WHO you download them from. Lost of people are, not so nice, and so they purposely make skins with some type of hack or something that will set off the VAC and those are the types of skins that will get you banned. So only download from trusted sites =P
I personally don't use skins. But I might try it someday soon =]

thats a big lie i always use skins on cs using source skin weapons already have a movie with skins and nothing happen

Just to further that.

Match configs (like enemy down) will enforce skins.

I used to have some custom ones and even though I didn't get a VAC ban, the match servers would enforce consistancy and wouldn't let me connect to the game.

It helps other people to aim which is classed as an unfair advantage And as we all know VAC2 Bans for unfair advantage, I guess CSS Could do with some new skins though,

I think it's only like that for skins like that make your walls see through etc..
Haven't heard of any cases for VAC2 - Source Engine.
